Nature of the Service

This is a private records-reference service. It does not house official booking files, court documents, jail rosters, or state corrections records. It cannot confirm a person’s custody status, release a person, submit a filing, or act for a government office.

Its purpose is to identify public record routes such as GCSO Booking and Release, GCSO’s FOIA process, the court index, and state corrections resources. Public-body record requests remain subject to the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, S.C. Code Title 30, Chapter 4, including its exemptions, timing rules, and agency procedures.

Acceptable Use

You must use the site lawfully, carefully, and in a way that does not interfere with another person or the operation of the site.

• Do not use the site for an unlawful purpose.
• Do not use information to stalk, harass, intimidate, or threaten anyone.
• Do not use site material for hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or another prohibited screening decision.
• Do not attempt to access a system, account, or data without authorization.
• Do not use bots, scrapers, or automated methods to collect, copy, or query site content without written permission.
• Do not damage, disrupt, overload, or impair the site for other visitors.

FCRA-Prohibited Uses

Georgetown County Busted Mugshots is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not provide consumer reports, credit reports, background checks, or screening services, and neither the site nor its advertising partners may be used for a purpose covered by the FCRA.

You agree not to use any material obtained from this site or a linked tool for the following purposes.

• Making a hiring, firing, promotion, or other employment decision.
• Screening a tenant or deciding housing eligibility.
• Determining creditworthiness or setting insurance coverage or premiums.
• Deciding eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit.
• Any other decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Links and Outside Services

The site may link to jail rosters, booking interfaces, sheriff and corrections pages, government portals, legal resources, and independent search providers. A link does not mean that Georgetown County Busted Mugshots controls, endorses, or guarantees the outside service. Review the receiving service’s terms, privacy notice, and current availability before relying on it.

No Warranties

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made about the following matters.

• The accuracy, completeness, or currency of any information.
• Uninterrupted availability of the site or a linked resource.
• Freedom from errors, defects, vulnerabilities, or harmful code.
• The scope, accuracy, or completeness of a partner’s search result.

Custody status and public information can change quickly. Nothing on this site is an official statement by GCSO, GCDC, a court, SCDC, or another government office.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Georgetown County Busted Mugshots and its operators are not liable for losses or damages arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the site, a search provider, or a linked source.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Georgetown County Busted Mugshots and its operators from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the site or your violation of these Terms and Conditions.

Ownership of Site Materials

The site’s text, graphics, logo, layout, and code are owned by Georgetown County Busted Mugshots or its content partners unless another owner is identified. You may not copy, distribute, modify, reproduce, or create derivative works from those materials without prior written permission.

Changes to These Terms

These Terms and Conditions may be changed at any time. A revised version takes effect when posted on the site. Continued use after posting means you accept the revised terms.

Revocation of Access

Access to the site may be restricted, suspended, or ended at any time, with or without notice, for any reason allowed by law.

South Carolina Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina. Any dispute arising from them must be filed in a court within South Carolina that has jurisdiction.

Severability

If a court finds any provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. The affected provision will be adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable where possible.
